Our modular feasibility process is designed to reduce the overall costs of wind turbine feasibility studies. If you’re at the very early stages of a wind turbine project, it is important to carry out a quick initial expert initial viability check for your site before committing to proceeding with a detailed feasibility study. This will filter out sites that are very high risk or unviable, without incurring the significant costs of a full feasibility study.
The Initial Expert Overview makes use of our extensive experience completing feasibility studies for hundreds of wind projects, across the UK and internationally, to give you brief high-level overview on the viability of your project and initial recommendations on key project risks and whether the next stage of the feasibility process, the Scale Assessment, should be considered.
Using the site location provided as part of the Wind Site Self-Assessment (WSSA), one of our wind experts will quickly access the most suitable scale of development any key risks that can be identified at this initial stage from a technical, environmental and planning perspective. We will also provide an initial estimate of financial viability.
The cost of an Initial Expert Overview is £150. If you wish to proceed with this initial assessment please contact us here.
An overview of all the wind feasibility study modules can be found here.
Want to install a wind turbine?
If you are in the UK then take our Wind Site Self-Assessment - Step 1 of our modular Windpower Feasibility Study. It takes about 20 minutes to work through the basic checks to see if your site might be suitable, including:
- Estimating wind speed
- Checking proximity of nearby properties
- Checking site access and approach roads
- Investigating connection with the grid
