Renewable Energy Engineer – Graduate or Experienced
Summary
- Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
- Salary (excluding profit share): £29,000 to £38,000 (depending on experience)
About the role
We are looking for talented engineers with a passion for system level design and analysis who also want the opportunity to go to site and be involved in the system construction. Within the role you will build experience in all technology areas, being trained and learning from more experienced staff as you take ownership of early-stage site assessments and monitoring of existing systems. A solid understanding of the technologies will provide a strong foundation for progression into system design and installation activities. You will be encouraged to manage all aspects of the project from technical design and performance to customer relations, and commercial responsibility. With significant company growth forecast in the medium term will come opportunities for personal growth. To maximise team collaboration and development the roles are office based.
About you:
- Degree-qualified engineer with a mechanical bias
- Experienced engineers looking to transfer from similar industry or good graduates will be considered
- Strong IT skills including CAD, data analysis and word processing

Senior Renewable Energy Engineer – Wind Power Specialist

About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced wind power engineer working on the feasibility, design and installation of onshore wind projects. The successful individual will manage Renewables First’s portfolio of wind projects comprising single and multi-turbine onshore developments ranging from 100 kW to several megawatts.
This is a client facing position offering expert guidance in accordance with our company values. You will manage a growing team of engineers to deliver Renewables First’s objectives, on time and on budget. Taking technical and managerial responsibility for the teams output, implementing company policies as well as developing team level policies to improve the quality and efficiency of its deliverables.
This position will report to the Senior Management Team and play a key role in shaping the company’s development within the onshore wind market. With big ambitions and significant company growth forecast this position will have opportunity for career development.
To maximise team collaboration and development the role is office based with site visits as required.

Site Installation Manager
Summary
- Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
- Salary (excluding profit share): £30,000 to £40,000 (depending on experience)
About the role
We have an opportunity for a qualified Site Installation Manager with the ambition to become an expert in the renewable energy sector. The individual will be involved in the installation and ongoing maintenance of hydro, wind power, solar PV and heat pump schemes – so this would be a very practical role but also with engineering responsibility.
Working closely with our engineering design teams, specialist contractors and system end users the successful candidate will take ownership of the project installation, from design handover to system commissioning. To maximise development, they will also perform continued operations and maintenance activities enabling the continuous improvement of future installations.
To be successful in this position you will require multiple skills including a solid background of onsite mechanical and electrical practises as well as qualifications in safety, quality, and progress monitoring. This position has the opportunity for growth to Team Manager.
About you:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Worker on construction projects, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Mechanical, electrical, construction, setting out and commissioning experience.
- Demonstrable practical skills, and keen to work hands-on building stuff
- Proficient in project management practises.
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient user of Microsoft 365 suite of programs
- Strong communicator.
- Team player
- UK wide coverage requiring relocation to site during working week, as required.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites, as required.
