The 5 tonne, 2.3 metre diameter turbine runner was lifted into place by Renewables First Senior Engineers Simon Dennis and Sam Jeddere-Fisher after a week spent carefully assembling the giant runner bearings and inlet guide-vanes. Simon Dennis, who is the lead designer and project manager, said:
“It’s great to see the runner in place after almost a year of constructing the concrete structures. I can’t wait to see the system generating in a couple of months time and making best use of the recent rain”.
